Values and Ethos
Norwood's Values
ASPIRE, RESPECT and ENJOY were developed as Norwood Primary School's values in 2016 after a thorough consultation with children, parents, staff and Governors. Since then they have formed the backbone of our everyday Norwood life.
Vision for Norwood
Developing a confident, healthy and inspiring community through inspirational teaching, the very best learning and a wealth of opportunities which promote the active engagement and participation of all.
Everybody has an important part to play in aiming to achieve a school which we can be proud of. Children, parents and staff included.
Children
We want children to be happy and resilient. We want children to know how to eat well, drink well, sleep well and move well. We want children with a positive attitude to improving themselves and seeing excellent role models throughout the school.
We want children to aspire to being better in all they do in readiness for the next stage of their lives and have high expectations of their own behaviour. As well as being proud of representing themselves and of representing their school.
Parents
We want you to participate fully in your child's education and make the journey a true partnership by demonstrating our Norwood values too. Be active and supportive in all we do to develop Norwood's vision and if you have services and skills to offer and widen the children's interests and knowledge, please let us know.
Staff
We have and want to continue to have the highest quality staff employed in all areas of school life. We want staff to develop themselves through different types of professional development and become specialists in a range of subject areas as well as us developing our own staff through strong links with Initial Teacher Training establishments and Teaching Schools.
