Parking
Norwood Primary School is set in a residential area and parking is extremely limited with parking restrictions in place along Norwood Crescent.
The safety of children attending our school and Holy Family and that of their accompanying parents and carers is our absolute priority.
Unfortunately a small minority of parents and carers have historically made pedestrian Access dangerous by parking across residents driveways, pavements and on zig zag lines.
Parking in the Staff Car Park
Parking in the staff car park at the end or beginning of the school day is extremely selfish unless you have made prior arrangements with the school.
Appointment Parking
If you have a formal appointment at school, please contact us in advance on the day of your visit by calling the Office on 01704 211960 or emailing [email protected] to enquire about parking permit availability.
School Run: Child Drop Off and Collection - an 'informal' one way system
For the safety of everyone using the roads and pavements approaching and close to school, we strongly encourage all parents and carers to use Norwood Crescent by entering the road from the opposite Hereford Road and leaving it opposite Chester Avenue. If all vehicles used this informal “one way system” for drop off and collection it would make traffic move much smoother through what can be a narrow thoroughfare not designed to take the potential volume of traffic School could generate.
If walking, scootering or cycling to school from home is not possible, parking away from the premises and walking in is the recommended alternative, making use of the neighbouring roads such as Grange Road, Chester Avenue and Hereford Road.
Drop Off/Pick Up Zone
For those who have no option but to drive to school, a restricted parking zone is in operation on Norwood Crescent.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK OVER DRIVEWAYS OF THE RESIDENTS AT ANY TIME AS THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ABLE TO GET IN AND OUT OF THEIR OWN DRIVEWAYS WITHOUT CONFRONTATION.
Do not use the yellow zig-zag area to drop or collect children.
Offenders
We hope that it will never be necessary, but members of the School community and local residents are welcome to report any offending vehicles to the School Office with photographs. Offenders will be contacted by school and repeat offenders will have their details passed on to the local Traffic Enforcement Officers.
