Getting to School

Norwood Primary School is sited alongside Holy Family Primary School and on a narrow road so getting to school can be very tricky with over 500 families trying to get to school between the hours of 8.30 and 9.15am and parking being restricted and limited.

Therefore the start and finish times of the two schools have been staggered to spread the traffic over a longer period of time.

There is also an "informal" one way system in operation to encourage the flow of traffic in and out of Norwood Crescent. Enter the Crescent opposite the Hereford Road end (at the bottom of Meols Cop station bridge) and leave opposite Chester Avenue. Your journey will be smoother if you and other users follow this at school drop off and collection times.

We recommend parking away from school and walking as there are two entrance gates onto the playground and the playground is supervised by senior staff from 8.30am.

The car park is not to be used by parents dropping off or collecting children between 8.30 - 9.00am or 3.00 - 4.00pm.

There are 2 parking spaces for parents of CHILDREN needing support with their mobility. Contact the office if you need a Norwood parking permit to use one of these spaces.

Blue badge holders DO NOT have authorisation to use the car park as the school is PRIVATE land.
