Sports Day

Our annual Sports Day usually takes place in June with the KS2 sports day taking place in the morning and the EY/KS1 one taking place in the afternoon. Parents and relatives are invited to watch to follow and encourage their children in each of the events.

All children are allocated into 10 teams prior to the day and are escorted around the 10 activities by their Y6 team captains. At each activitiy the children, as a team, try to score as many points as they can in their allotted time, before moving onto the next event. Points are also awarded for co-operation and teamwork.

After each team has completed each event, the points are totalled up and the winners announced.

The KS2 sports day also features the Sprint races for boys and girls and across all year groups from Year 3 to Year 6. These races are the finals following timed heats having been run prior to the big day.  Medals of GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE are awarded to the first 3 runners home and an award ceremony completes the occasion.
